CARLING - OFF SEASON

line

In a world where the institution of football cares less and less about actual fans we decided that Carling should help out the poor sods who schlep across the country every season spending their hard earned cash watching prima donna players.

40" TV SPOT

line

Our first act was to tackle the ever increasing price of football shirts by giving fans £10 off though our partners at kitbag.com We promoted the offer in a thirty second spot documenting the fall, rise and then further fall of Hoggy the Hedgehog. A football mascot on his final warning who has to prove himself fit to perform at the seasons opener.

POSTER CAMPAIGN

line

We wanted our posters to feel very much part of the overhyped sports world, but still with a Carling twist so we had Hoggy assume some of the classic footballer sponsorship poses. Sometimes alongside a crate of beer with some swish type and a nod to footballing parlance in the headlines..

SHIRT AMNESTY

line

Next we set up a service for fans to trade in their shirts when their favourite player did the dirty and walked away from their club. We even printed the new shirts with the names of more loyal players on the back, free of charge. We called it the Carling Shirt Amnesty and sent a Carling all over the country van during the transfer window, sending salvation to despairing fans everywhere.

We even threw in everyone's favourite ex footballer Jimmy Bullard to interview the fans and keep them entertained while they queued up. By the end on the campaign clubs were actively asking us to come to their grounds and West Ham attempted their own version when Payet left.
